Rising demands for quality, efficiency, sustainability, and flexibility are fundamentally transforming industrial production processes. New materials, complex component geometries, automated production lines, and an increasing variety of product variants present companies with the challenge of ensuring product and process quality reliably, quickly, and cost-effectively.
At the same time, defects must be detected as early as possible to avoid scrap, rework, production downtime, and costly consequential damage. Traditional sampling inspections are often insufficient for this purpose. Instead, process-integrated testing methods, inline monitoring, intelligent sensor technology, and data-based evaluation methods are becoming increasingly important.
Particularly in the case of metallic materials, joints, casting and forming processes, additive manufacturing processes, and automated assembly and machining steps, a reliable assessment of material properties, component conditions, and process deviations is crucial.
