Modern data value chains need intelligent sensors. There has been a massive rise in the complexity of processes and products, which is difficult to handle with conventional solutions. Intelligent, networked sensor approaches are required. Sensor data is processed into relevant information, which is used as the basis for making decisions. In the future, artificial intelligence will be used to do this in real time, using sensor-intelligence-devices (SID). First and foremost, the Center for Sensor-Intelligence is looking into applications for the materials, production, medical engineering, and healthcare sectors.
