Campus-Treff, TU Dortmund University

The 16th International Conference on Barkhausen Noise and Micromagnetic Testing will take place on September 21st to 24th, 2026, in Dortmund, Germany.
The event will be organized by the Chair of Materials Test Engineering (WPT) at TU Dortmund University.

Since 1998, the ICBM conferences have brought together scientists, academics, and industry professionals from around the world to discuss the latest developments and findings in the field of Barkhausen noise and micromagnetic testing methods. The conference has focused on presenting new applications, developing new sensors, modeling and simulation, modern trends, and material characterization.

In this edition, ICBM16 gladly welcomes contributions with a specialized or niche focus, pilot studies as well as investigations that still have unanswered questions.

Focal points:

  • Nondestructive materials characterization
  • Investigations of stress state, residual stresses and defect analysis
  • Combined applications of micromagnetic and microscopic techniques
  • Modeling and simulation
  • Machine learning-oriented studies
  • Industrial applications

The Fraunhofer IZFP will also be presenting a lecture:

  • Rapid High-Resolution Micromagnetic Material Property Imaging and Defect Detection via Magneto-Optic, Speaker: Lukas Lauck
