The Sensor-Based Sorting & Control conference was held in Aachen for the first time in 2004. Since then, it has been held every two years and is characterized by its internationality. In 2022, the 132 participants came from 14 different countries.

The next Sensor-Based Sorting & Control symposium will take place for the tenth time in Aachen on March 13 and 14, 2024 in the SuperC of the RWTH.

Over two conference days, contributions from industry and science will present new developments and applications in the field of sensor-based sorting and process control, along the entire process chain from extraction to processing, for primary and secondary raw materials. The presentation topics include

  • Further developments of multi-sensor systems,
  • Advances in single particle detection,
  • Methods of data processing and particle analysis,
  • Use of sensor systems for online monitoring and process control as well as optimization of peripheral processes.

There will also be the opportunity to make contacts, discuss technical content and exchange experiences during the evening event in the historic ballroom of the old Kurhaus. The symposium is being organized by the Department of Mineral Resources Processing (AMR) and the Institute for Anthropogenic Material Cycles (ANTS) at RWTH Aachen University.
